Recycled yellow gold bee wings pendant with one bezel set recycled diamond. The delicate trace chain connects to each wing tip.
Our client came to us with a few pieces of jewellery that they were no longer wearing. We melted all of the clean 18K yellow gold together and supplied one recycled brilliant cut diamond, just over half a carat in size, to create this unique necklace.
Our client had a birthday coming up and wanted something truly special to celebrate. Their love of bees was our inspiration and we used and image of actual wings to create the template for our design.
Not all old jewellery is suitable for melting and re-working but after testing we found this supplied gold was perfectly suitable. For a piece like this that is cut from solid plate there is a bit of waste material. All of the gold scraps were returned to our client for a future project.
We also supplied the delicate trace chain and, while it isn't made from recycled materials, it is responsibly manufactured and assembled locally.
