EARRINGS THAT CAN BE WORN FOUR DIFFERENT WAYS
1. STUDS THAT LOOK LIKE HOOPS
I wanted to start with a simple, rose gold earring that I could wear every single day (and I have worn them every day since the wedding!).
I designed them to hug the earlobe and look like a hoop when worn. The open end that sits behind the ear is melted into a little ball so that different pieces can be threaded over the post and can't slip off.
2. EARRING CHARMS THAT THREAD ONTO THE STUDS
A long time ago I was gifted a pair of recycled, pear cut morganites in a gorgeous pastel pink. The fabric I chose for my outfit had rose gold sequins on it and the stones were the most perfect colour match! I decided to make them my something old :)
I wanted the earrings to be long, sleek, lightweight and modern and spent hours playing around in CAD (computer aided design) with different ideas. I eventually settled on these little basket settings with cross over detail behind the stone and a geometric wire frame.
Both configurations are comfortable to wear and just a little bit fancy. While I wouldn't ride my bike with them on or wear them to sleep they are incredibly easy to put on the studs and wear for the odd day here and there.
3. CONNECTING THE EARRING PIECES ALL TOGETHER
Then I created a little 'S' link that, with a little tension, connects the two pieces together.
While I am obsessed with the look and loved how they wore on the day, the connecting hook is a bit fiddly. This is the part of the design that is a work in progress!
Jenna and I are workshopping solutions and will have something ready to show you early in 2024 :)
